چکیده

Abstract Calcium-magnesium-alumino-silicate (CMAS) corrosion is a critical factor which causes the failure of thermal barrier coating (TBC). CMAS attack significantly alters temperature and stress fields in TBC, resulting their delamination or spallation. In this work, evolution process TBC prepared by suspension plasma spraying (SPS) under investigated. The leads to formation reaction layer subsequent bending TBC. Based on observations, model proposed describe generation Then, numerical simulations are performed investigate free-standing complete system attack. constructs bridge for connecting two models. results show that has significant influence field, such as peak stress, whereas it little steady-state field. increases with holding time, risk rupture Mises nonlinearly along thick direction layer. Furthermore, traditional zone, interface top coat bond coat, obviously changes during corrosion.

AN INVESTIGATION ON EFFECT OF BOND COAT REPLACEMENT ON HOT CORROSION PROPERTIES OF THERMAL BARRIER COATINGS

In the present study NiCrAlY bond coating layer was produced by electroplating against common atmospheric plasma spraying (APS). Both types of the bond coats were applied on IN738LC base metal then, the YSZ (ZrO2-8% Y2O3) thermal barrier top layer was coated by atmospheric plasma spray technique. Hot corrosion is one of the main destructive factors in thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) which come ...

Numerical and Experimental Investigation of Thermal Debinding

Powder injection molding (PIM) is an important netshape manufacturing process and has received much attention. One of the most critical steps in PIM process is debinding. It consumes a major part of the processing time. Failure of the powder compact often results if the process is accelerated. Thermal debinding is a common methodology for the final removal of residual polymer from a PIM compact...

Erosion, Corrosion and Erosion-Corrosion of EB PVD Thermal Barrier Coatings

Electron beam (EB) physical vapour deposited (PVD) thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) have been used in gas turbine engines for a number of years. The primary mode of failure is attributed to oxidation of the bondcoat and growth of the thermally grown oxide (TGO), the alumina scale that forms on the bondcoat and to which the ceramic top coat adheres. Once the TGO reaches a critical thickness the T...
